Our story shall echo through eternity. For with each heartbeat today, we sang a promise of shared love and life.

A sweet April evening was abrew in Vishakhapatnam when I made my way to the Gadiraju Palace, an ornate mansion by the soothing waters of Lawson’s Bay. The summer air was enveloped in tones of seaside warmth, and the sun was on its slow but graceful journey back home. I met with an ebullient Meghana and a joyful Srikanth as they geared up for their Telugu marriage ceremony, and was delighted to see how breezy the couple felt on their big day. So, just before the sunset, I stole the bride and groom for quick portraits in the expansive frontyard of the palace.

The pastel coloured walls and painstakingly maintained lawns made for the perfect backdrop as we walked to chronicle precious memories. Soon, dusk made its way to our doors and it was time to proceed indoors for the sublime Telugu marriage ceremony.

Inside the royal hall, it was almost as if we had entered a different world. One where the air was filled with the same electrifying joy, but there were simply more colours, laughter, and reasons to celebrate. Meghna and Srikanth’s families made for a wonderful bunch– the singing, clapping, and laughter never ceased. And so, under a vibrant red mandap decorated with delicate jasmine looms, in the presence of their loved ones under a single roof, the couple exchanged a promise of forever.

More traditional rituals and amusing ceremonies followed, and the euphoric bride and groom lived each moment from their Telugu marriage in Vizag. We ended the evening with one of their most endearing Telugu marriage photos, as the newly married Meghna and Srikanth embraced under a canopy of fragrant flowers. It was as if the tenderness and beauty of the blossoms sweeped into their hearts. And the rest is a beautiful chronicle to remember for decades to come.
