The afternoon seemed divine when Malavika and I made our way to the wild and quiet landscape of Karjat. We had left from Mumbai earlier that morning, listening to the radio and exchanging stories as we drove past golden fields and tiny settlements. And while the verdant city of Karjat is only a 2-hour drive from the metropolitan, it seems like a different world altogether. A sheer serenity enveloped the air as we walked into the wilderness, skipping rocks in the gurgling stream and listening to the chirping birds hovering above. After a fun hike up and down the rocky hills, I stopped to behold a frame that brought all the fine elements of Nature together.

In front of my eyes lay a lavender sky, dramatic brown and ash boulders, and a freshwater stream shimmering with the colours all around. And amidst it all, there stood an utterly graceful Malavika in a green dress that added a breath of fresh air to the palette. I immediately started taking pictures as she eloquently posed under the sunset sky, fascinated by her gripping gaze and the sheer charm she filled the air with. Undoubtedly, this shoot came with a different vibe than my usual style of dramatic imagery. I embraced it as a breath of fresh air and let the soothing milieus and Malavika’s expressive eyes do the talking. After all, it was a unique experience to do something I absolutely love in the very lap of Nature, immersed in the flowing winds and the changing light of the evening.
