Rare and exquisite, our wedding eve ensued. That day, history blossomed, and many worlds entwined– in the henna on my palm, in the folk song on your lips.

A regal charm drifted through the air on that tender winter noon. Following a rugged and winding road, my team and I made our way to the earthy village of Samode, 45 km north of Jaipur. We arrived the night before Lane and Benjamin’s two-day wedding celebration, and our excitement upon arrival at the Samode Palace Rajasthan was evident. The sandstone boulevards and ornate alleyways flaunted 16th-century Mughal architecture, and each corner of the palace shimmered with royalty. On the day of mehendi and sangeet, dawn turned to noon as the guests arrived and settled down at Samode Palace Rajasthan and Samode Bagh. Admiring a grand welcome, arched doorways, and bougainvillea-fringed courtyards, they braced for a memorable couple of days to follow.

While preparations for an ebullient commotion unfurled at noon, Lane & Ben strolled the Sheesh Mahal, posing elegantly for their pre wedding photos at Samode Bagh. Adorned in a delicate crepe gown, Lane blossomed like a supple orange lily in all her grace. Benjamin accompanied her with glee in a complimenting blue kurta decorated with intricate floral motifs. The stroll ended with a wardrobe change, and the doting couple now geared up for the mehendi ceremony photos at Samode Bagh

It was the delicate hour before sunset when Lane & Ben’s mehendi ceremony at Samode Bagh Rajasthan ensued. The air was laced with the sweet rhythm of harmoniums and Sanganeri folk music, and the guests arrived dressed up to the nine. The bride and groom-to-be glimmered in silken white attires as they greeted their loved ones with joy and affection. Soon, as the sun gently descended, redolent henna was painted on the hands of their friends and family. An immersive Rajasthani folk performance took over the courtyard at dusk, and soon, the cocktail party at Samode Palace Rajasthan followed.

The couple, now dazzling in shades of green, lilac, and ivory, made a stunning entrance under an onyx-laden sky. Soft yellow light from candles and ornate lamp posts lit up the gardens, making way for a dashing cocktail party at Samode Palace Rajasthan. Bollywood hits were paired up with suave dance moves on the stage, where the couple’s friends and family joined the frolic with delightful performances. I soon realised what an utter pleasure it was to indulge in sangeet photography at Samode Palace Rajasthan, where every leaf and pebble enhanced the beauty of the evening. Hands in gentle hands, feet moving to the rhythm of Hindi songs, bellies full and hearts spilling with love– that’s how the day’s celebrations came to a close. With Lane and Benjamin as the perfect hosts of their wedding eve party, much will be remembered by those who came to attend the Mehendi and Sangeet from oceans away, for years to come.
