‘The Little Boy from Hampi’ won in the Portraiture/Children, Professional category at The Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3)

The Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3) is a photography award that strives to promote appreciation of photography, discover emerging talent, and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.

The Paris Photography Prize was founded in 2007 and has since become one of the most prestigious photography awards in Europe.

‘The Little Boy from Hampi’ earned 2nd place winner at the MonoVisions Photography Awards 2022

Arjun Kamath also received Honourable Mention in People and Portrait category for several of his entries like Shazia, In her eyes, In the bitter life of a Sugar Farmer, Shraddha Srinath and Shweta Tripathi .

‘The Little Boy from Hampi’ earned platinum winner at the Muse Photography Awards 2022

The Little Boy from Hampi is a portrait of 12-year-old Ajitha while he was busy guarding a tribe of goat on the outskirts of Hampi, Karnataka(India). Noticing his expressive eyes from a distance, I walked towards him slowly and asked politely, “Do you go to school?” (in Kannada, which is the local language). He smiled back warmly, looked me in the eye and said, “No…” That “NO” still hasn’t left my mind. Whether it was a happy no, or a sad no, is something I still wonder about.

January 2022: CFA Artist of the Month

At the Circle Foundation for the Arts, Arjun earned CFA artist of the month 2nd place awards for ‘The Anxiety Series’ that combines art, poetry, and a social message about mental illness in a vibrant fusion, drawing inspiration from Arjun Kamath’s personal experiences with anxiety.

Circle Foundation provides a platform for the active fine artist, orchestrating the development of a variety of visual arts projects and open calls.

At the Siena International Photo Awards 2021, Arjun earned Remarkable Artwork and an Honourable Mention for ‘The Anxiety Series’ that combines art, poetry, and a social message about mental illness in a vibrant fusion, drawing inspiration from Arjun Kamath’s personal experiences with anxiety.

The Siena International Photo Awards (SIPAContest) is a photography competition for professional, amateur and student photographers from around the world. It is judged by an international panel of experts that includes renowned photographers, editors and photography collectors. The awards, which were first presented in 2015, and the affiliated Siena Awards Festival in Siena, Italy, were regarded significant by their second year.

International Photography Awards 2020

Winner: Still in Motion/ Video, Editorial

Coming Out, a pictorial story that shook the internet, won the first place in the popular category of ‘Still in Motion/Video- Editorial’ at the International Photography Awards (IPA 2020). The series, which starred Sarah Harish and Shraddha Srinath, is crafted around a tender love story of two girls, with an ending that sends chills down the spine & weaves a poignant message worth talking about. ‘The Anxiety Series’ another photo story by Arjun, also earned an Honorable Mention Trophy at these awards.

International Photography Awards 2020

Category: People/ Children

‘The Little Boy from Hampi’ earned the second place at the International Photography Awards 2019. While exploring the outskirts of Hampi, Arjun crafted this portrait of 12-year-old Ajitha who was looking out for his herd of sheep.

This image was also chosen as one of National Geographic’s favourite pictures around the world for the year 2017.

The Tokyo International Photo Awards 2020

Bronze: Fine Art, Other

At the Tokyo International Foto Awards 2020, Arjun earned Bronze medals for ‘The Anxiety Series’ and and the portrait he made of ‘The Little boy from Hampi’.

Every year, TIFA honours, recognises, and connects photographers from around the world to new audiences in Tokyo’s artistic circles. The festival is open to the public and photographers from all around the world apply for the TIFA awards.

Arjun’s pictures in the wedding editorial genre were awarded the Runner-Up at the 2019 Wedding Sutra Awards, making him one of India’s top wedding photographers.
